Lord Magister is the main antagonist in the book series and the 2021 reboot series. He is the ruler of the Gray Spellbinders/Bloodgraves who held captive Princess Tara's mother, Selena Duncan, for an entire decade after murdering her royal husband Prince Danviou Brami when only child was just two years old, whom he attempted to abduct from her crib and killed her father in direct combat. His base is the Gray Fortress.

Appearance

Tara noted in The Spellbinders that he is blonde when she was wandering through his chambers inside the Gray Fortress looking for her mother. Perhaps this may yield a clue to his identity.

Personality 

As an evil mastermind and villain through and through, he is vindictive and manipulative to those he deems fit of abducting Princess Tara Duncan. When displeased at their repeated failures, he turns them into frogs.

Magical Abilities

Spell-Casting: As an extraordinary strong spellbinder, he is capable of casting various levels of different types of magic at will.

• Paralysis: This spell enables him to instantly immobilize a target from a distance by blasting a powerful ray of yellow magic, as his opponents can.
• Flight: Unlike other spellbinders, he is able to fly or levitate under his own power at will. Even Princess Tara has not yet developed this high skill.
• Magiportation: By casting Transmitis, he can teleport over long distances in a flash of yellow light.
• Power/Ability Absorption: Casting Stealis, he attempts to drain Princess Tara dry of her powerful magic, so he can dominate Otherworld and the rest of the cosmos. To become stronger, he has his servants give him their own strength at times by ordering them to "give him the power."
• Pertification: He can turn whomever he wishes into solid stone or any solid substance by casting Petrifis.
• Transfiguration: He can transfigure objects and living beings into whatever he wishes. He mainly uses it to turn his incompetent Bloodgraves into frogs whenever they displease him for failing to abduct Princess Tara.

• His name is from the word "magistrate", which is a type of judge or Justice of the Peace in some countries.
• In the Ben 10 franchise, "magister" is a high rank of the intergalactic police force called the Plumbers.
